Just a peak from the 9th floor...

Well, for the life of me, I was bored while having a smoke out in our balcony. So there I was just playing around with my phone. I figured, hey, what the heck. It's a beautiful day. The sun's rays are peaking through the clouds and you can see as far as you can from where I was standing. So I took a picture. In any case, here's a view. You might want to give the picture a click to see a larger view of it.

I'm Pooped!!

Well...so far so good. We've finally managed to get the necessities and tidy up the place a bit. At first and second glance, I thought this apartment was a little bigger. But after putting in all the furniture and whatnot, it seems smaller now. It's not cramped. There's still a lot of space actually. I just thought it looked bigger. In any case, I thought I'd post some pics of the place my sis and I stay at. Just click on the images to get a larger view.

Here's a picture of the living room / dining room. I wanted to go for the Oriental motif. However, some of the best Asian furnitures in Ikea were sold out. Not to mention that some of the colours I wanted weren't available. I had to improvise a bit and bought some stuff from Ikea and other furniture warehouses.

Give me a few months and that TV is going to disappear. My sis and I will replace it with a 40' some plasma display. WHEEEEE!!

I love that red ottoman.

Here's another view of the living room with the dining table. There's this huge space just left of the couch. I don't know whether I should put a small tree or an excercise machine. Most probably a small tree of some sort.

By the way, that sofa also converts to a sofa bed. Cool huh?

Cute huh? When I first saw this table, I figured that this would go best with the colour and the theme.

Here's another view of the living room now with the computer table and such. Yes, that's a flat screen display. Yahoo!! Actually, the computer set was pretty cheap. For $700 Cdn (Php 30k), we got the 17' flat screen, Canon Pixma printer and the computer. The computer's awfully powerful (AMD 2Ghz processor, GeForce 128 Vid card, 140Gb HDD, DVD/CD Burner, 512mb RAM) for that price but what the heck! A deal's a deal!!

This is my sis' room. She hasn't fully furnished it. She has some crazy arty fartsy ideas for her room. I'm sure she'll get them after my folks leave. hahahah! I think she has plans for an easel and some photography stuff for her room. Maybe dangling negatives from the ceiling. hehehe

Here's mine. Don't mind the hole on the left. I'm about to install an airconditioning unit there. I haven't fully furnished my room either. I plan to get a smaller computer table for my laptop later on and bring in a smaller TV. Oh well. I sooooooo love this bed!!

Well, that's it for now. Until I get Sims 2 and use that a template for the apartment, I'll leave what we have as is. Yes...Sims 2 is the best especially when you're interior decorating. Right Riane? heheheh

For now, I'm gonna jet. I gotta prep for this interview I'm going to.

Dear diary,

I'm back in Toronto. Is it for good? I don't know. Time will tell. All I can say is that my trip back here was a hellish experience. Imagine being in transit for more than 30 freakin' hours!! Here's a summary:

- waited to board the plane in Manila bound for Hong Kong (10 hours)
- got another flight instead to San Francisco
- flight got bumped up to 1st class (wheee!!) after much ranting ranting

- waited in the Mabuhay Class with the rest of the sosi people (OMG!! Soooo many spoiled brats in this place. Some people can't even get their own soda!! I swear!! I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had help to unzip their pants so that they can pee. For argument's sake, and for the sake of sparing myself the flaming comments, I'll just say that there are a lot of airheads and dits here. Eugh!! Kill me if I ever turn into one!)
- got to San Francisco
- no seats booked for family (WHAT THE xxxx ?!?)
- after much ranting yet again, got another flight to Chicago
- waited 3 hours to board a flight to Toronto
- check out
- 8 checked in luggages (5 boxes and 3 luggages)...all mishandled
- 5 completely wrecked and soaking wet boxes, 3 minor damaged luggages (ARGH!! BASTARDS!!)
- 3 missing carry on luggages (long story, had to check them in 'coz there was no space in the passenger cabin)
- 3 missing luggages to be delivered to the hotel ( half a day's wait)
- had to bitch and complain and bitch some more to the travel advisor because they had no freakin' clue as to where our missing luggages were

And all it took was over 30 hours to get everything settled in. AYAYAY!! Talk about luck huh?

I'm here now and everything seems so different. I don't hear and see the usual rush of Manila traffic or hear the noise of a videoke singer trying hard to be the next Philippine Idol next door. I mean sure, I've lived here for about 14 years of my life and I've gone back and forth but this time it's different. I miss my friends. I miss hangin' at Greenbelt. I miss hanging out at 1 of the many many many many many many many Starbucks. I miss the tropical humid heat (no really, I do). I miss the tropical plants and trees. Lastly, I miss the one person that is special and that really matters to me the most. Sigh...

All I can do I guess is wait 6 months from now to see and feel everything that I'm missing now.

Oh well...for now, it's time for breakfast.

Nickelback - Far Away

Song Lyrics

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know, you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
and you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all
I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
'Cause you know, you know, you know

So far away
(So far away)
Been far away for far too long
So far away
(So far away)
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me then let me go
Keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me never let me go
(Keep breathing)
Hold on to me never let me go
(Keep breathing)
Hold on to me never let me go

Days Gone By But Never Lost
Choc full of memories
Happiest at the most

Remember the many back massages until my thumbs start to cramp
Remember subbing in Chinese movies
Remember the after work and late night movies
Remember the nuts (and I promise I won’t take ‘em)
Remember the jumbo sized diet pepsi and running straight to the washroom after
Remember getting lost in the parking lot or forgetting my wallet
Remember ramen at Sakura’s
Remember Sonia’s Garden
Remember gadget browsing at shops and drooling
Remember Mocha Coconut Chillers
Remember 100 peso buckets of San Mig with friends
Remember Plumb
Remember white parties and adult stores
Remember playing with each other’s hair
Remember the scary driving lessons
Remember our Chinese Movie poster “The Girlfriend”
Remember to buckle your seatbelt

Remember to fight for what your heart believes in
Remember that love and friendship has no boundaries

In my eyes, you are perfect and you are loved
Eight days left ‘til my flight and I already miss you
